Theresa’s design philosophy is rooted in the belief that every home should be a refuge. Her work is celebrated for its thoughtful harmony, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to elevating the client experience. She leads her team with a collaborative, mentorship-driven approach, ensuring every project reflects the firm’s signature blend of each client’s unique aesthetics, functionality, and timeless appeal.
Her journey in design began after building her and her husband’s first home in 2005. Frequent relocations for her husband’s career allowed her to take on significant renovation projects—transforming neglected properties into elegant, purposeful retreats. From space planning and architectural details in historical homes to kitchen and bath design, Theresa led these projects with vision and precision, eventually prompting her return to school to pursue a degree in interior design.
Today, she combines her corporate background in publications, communications, and marketing with years of hands-on design experience to guide her team in delivering exceptional results while fostering lasting client relationships. Her leadership emphasizes clarity, organization, and integrity, creating an environment where creativity thrives and every client feels understood and cared for.
Theresa draws inspiration from a lifetime of international travel, where art, culture, and architecture have shaped her perspective on beauty, craftsmanship, and the way spaces enhance everyday living. Rather than adhering to a single style, she finds joy in customizing each design to reflect her clients’ personalities and needs.
Beyond design, she finds joy in singing, dancing, volunteering, and pursuing holistic wellness. Her faith is central to her life and work, guiding her values, leadership, and the way the firm approaches every client relationship.
At home, Theresa treasures life with her husband, two children, and their Bernedoodle, embracing the hectic balance of family, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Her mission is to lead a team that creates spaces designed to elevate daily living—homes that are deeply considered, effortlessly functional, and built for moments well-lived and memories that endure.
Co-founders and friends: Alicia and I met through a small group at church, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect—she was ready to take a break from corporate America just as I was preparing to launch my design business.
By bringing together our complementary skills and experiences, we co-founded what is now Dwell & Gather. I am grateful for every moment of growth along the way and deeply cherish how God placed Alicia in my life to help bring this dream to life.
